9 Days Drive to Southwest Omo Valley
Day 01: Arrive Transfer to Hotel
Arrive at Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, where you are met and assisted by our staff. Overnight hotel at your choice.
Day 02: Drive to Jimma
Drive to Jimma passing through Wolkite on the way we will visit the Gurage ethnic group with their big circular grass hat house and beautiful scenery over view the Gibe valley and Gilgel Gibe hydro-electric. Overnight honey land/ Central hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Mizan Teferi
After breakfast drive to Mizan Teferi, passing through coffee plantations. The area is known historic for strong Kingdom Kaffa, the birthplace of coffee, which the term coffee came from. Historic continues that the Arabs who brought first to the world, since then it are known as coffee Arabica. Overnight hotel at Mizan Teferi.
Day 04: Drive Kibish. If lucky attend the Donga stick fighting
Morning drive to Kibish on the way visit the Bebeka coffee plantation, where they cultivate organic coffee trees, tea, spice as well as rubber trees. Short break for visit coffee farm from nursery to the coffee processing techniques. Lunch stop at Dima, the Town of Anuak tribe. Then proceed to Kibish. Overnight camping at Kibish.
Day 05: Walk through Kibish Surma Village, IF lucky attend the Donga stick fighting
Today we will have full day visit of the Surma Village, in meantime we organize our trekking equipment and get ready mule and Mule attendant for tomorrow adventure Surma trekking. Overnight at Camping at Kibish.
Day 06: Drive to Tum
Leaving morning after breakfast head to Tum, the village of Dizi tribe. The Dizi people are hereditarily very short people who have been known for beehive-like houses, similar to the Dorze. If time allowed and it is market day we proceed to Maji for colorful market of Dizi, Surma and meet some Nyangatom at Maji market after stay for while we retrace to Tum. Overnight camping at Tum.
Day 07: Tum - Bebeka
Today we retrace north to Bebeka, where we will stay for overnight guesthouse at the Bebeka Coffee Plantation.
Day 08: Drive to Jimma
Returning back, we continue to Jimma via Mizan Tafari. In Jimma you can take a refreshing time by your own: swimming, walking, shopping and feeling the city.
Day 09: Drive to Addis and Evening Departure
Drive back to Addis via Butajira on the way you will visit the archeological sites of Tiya and Adadi Mariam. In the Evening a fare well diner party in one of the Traditional Ethiopian restaurant with dances from the different ethnic Groups. Then transfer to the airport for departure back to home
